forecast. >> the one right now really spreading rain in the sierra nevada. in fact, the snow we had unfortunately melting but there's more to come with the colder, stronger system. here's a look at heavenly right now where we are reporting rain at the tahoe valley airport. also at truck key with numbers near 40 degrees. and locally temperatures are anywhere from two to nine degrees warmer than yesterday morning at this time. so we are looking at the rain showers exiting the peninsula and the east bay so let's get you back home and talk about the winds, as well. here's the san mateo bridge. we have gusty winds out there around hay war, gusting to over 20 miles an hour. also at our coast. and in the inland east bay. do be careful out there. there's fog on top of all the rain. but you know the next system will bring breezy winds out ahead of the cold front that is slated to arrive by late this afternoon in the north bay. the north bay right now is where we take you where the heaviest rain is. it really has been quite light throughout the morning hours. in fact, we are looking at scatte
, closer to highway 5. that rain and snow mix in the sierra nevada. tahoe valley airport, 35 degrees with some snow but we are into the upper 30s in truckie with some rain. still an advisory above 6500 feet here until 10:00 this morning. temperatures right now in the lower 40s in the cool spots and the north bay valleys. that's where we have the fog. santa rosa, winds are calm. 45 napa. 53 in the city across the bay and 52 san jose. you are right, if you think it feels cooler out there, as much as 14 degrees cooler up in santa rosa. five degrees cooler this morning than yesterday morning in oakland, san francisco and san jose eight degrees of cooling since that frontal pass am. the possibility of a dengering shower this morning. otherwise partial clearing this afternoon. that means we will see some sunshine and showers will return late tuesday into wednesday. this system looks not as strong as the within we had last night. maybe about a quarter to half-inch of rain. but it does look it it will outf merely wednesday in time for the travel day and giving us a dry end of the work week,
. there is little thing called lake effect snow in the sierra nevada where it piles up on the east side of the lake. up to three inches around carson city and reno. you can see it blowing over the lake. it pictures up the lake and dumps it on the other side. definitely some travel troubles in the high country but degree over freezing in santa rosa. oakland, dropped into the 40s as well as san francisco with some warmer air headed in into a redwood city. chilly mid 40s from livermore to concord and san jose. this morning with a little bit of wind out there, you have managed to stay around 50 degrees. gusty north winds, half moon bay up to 20 miles an hour and west wind has allowed you to stay well into the 40s this morning. these winds will be backing off late tonight. that is going to bring in another frosty start to the day tomorrow. sunny and cool today. a little warmer to start the week. that will be monday and tuesday. chance of showers could return wednesday into thursday. not much of a system but we have this system move on through on thursday. behind it still energy. this cold low continues

in the sierra nevada. the higher elevations. king's beach reporting just a light dusting of snow, truckee, still reporting rain. current temperatures there, 33 degrees. and blue canyon right now, some light rain as well. so, the snow levels are high now but will start to come down. santa rosa, over two inches from what we received this evening and last night. san francisco, close to an inch. oakland, over a half inch, and lesser amounts toward san jose. so it has been a nice rainmaker, overnight tonight. temperatures in the 50s and will remain in that zone overnight tonight. decreasing rain overnight. partial clearing by sunday afternoon, and looks like the showers will return as we head into late tuesday. you can see on our satellite radar composite just how quickly this ban moved through. these are clouds here and they could possibly still hold a few light showers. so, we'll say goodbye to the cold front and then we'll look for tomorrow morning, 5:00 a.m. a little bit of partial clearing but still possibly see a few stray showers here and there. so we'll keep enemy the forecast. if you're head

shopping at railly's. the stores throughout california and nevada went on strike at 6:00 this morning after talks broke down. abc7 news reporter kyra clapper joins us live from the railly's in fremont with details on the walkout. good morning. >> good morning, carolyn. this is the first walkout in the 77-year history of wailly's. it is over wages and retiree and health benefits facing cuts. they say it must reduce costs to become competitive. the union says it is a contract that erases decades of progress for grocery workers. at 6:00 a.m. three union members started their sunday in solidarity. forming a picket line in fremont because of what they say are unfair labor practices. >> we are starting to get a decent contract for the members. >> reporter: the dispute between railly and the workers union involves about 7,000 union members from grocery workers to meat cutters. 15 months of contract negotiations came to a head overnight and a midnight deadline came and went. >> hopefully this will send a message that you can take a little from people, but you can't take a lot. >> reporter: railly's
